We all know what a noisy environment the military can be, but did you know that the VA purchases one out of every five (20%) hearing aids sold in the US, for use by Veterans? Veterans make more claims for Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) than any other disability in the VA system.
VHA Audiology is part of the VA's Rehabilitation and Prosthetic Services organization.
Eligibility

Any Veteran who is enrolled in VA Healthcare.

Wax guards

Cleaning supplies

Desiccant (drying products)

Cost
If you do NOT have a service connected hearing condition AND you do NOT have a Combined rating of at least 10% you may owe a Small copay. Depending on your income level.
The following groups of people will owe NO copays:

Veterans drawing any disability compensation
-
Former Prisoners of War
-
Purple Heart recipients
-
Veterans with a service connected hearing disability
-
Veterans with hearing impairment so severe that it interferes with their ability to take part in their own treatment for service connected disabilities

Veterans who are qualified for an increased pension based on being permanently housebound and in need of regular aid and attendance
-
Veterans with significant functional or cognitive impairment evidenced by deficiencies in the ability to perform activities of daily living
Obtaining these Benefits
To schedule a hearing exam, talk to your VA primary care provider or contact your nearest VA medical center or clinic.

It is possible to get a referral to get seen by a community provider based on your specific needs and circumstances. Your VA provider will work with you to determine if you’re eligible.
Reordering Hearing Aid Batteries/Accessories
Option 1: Order online
Note:

You can only order hearing aid batteries and accessories online if you've ordered them at least once within the past 2 years.
Option 2: Order by phone
Call the VA Denver Logistics Center (DLC) at 303-273-6200. Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday, 6:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST.
If you're only ordering hearing aid batteries, select 1 for the Automated Battery Reorder System. Enter your Social Security number and zip code when prompted. Then, select the authorized batteries you need to order.
If you're ordering batteries and other accessories (like hearing aid wax guards), select 2 to connect with a customer service representative.
To connect with an operator, select 0.
Option 3: Order by mail
Fill out a Veteran’s Request for Batteries and Accessories VA Form 2346a.
