Veteran Employment Through Technology Education Courses (VET TEC)

VET TEC is currently a five year pilot program established under Section 116 of the Forever GI Bill (also known as Harry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act), passed in 2017. Access to the program was further enhanced by the DELIVER Act (Dependable Employment and Living Improvements for Veterans Economic Recovery Act) enacted January 5, 2021, expanding eligibility to active duty members who are within 180 days of separation.

Housing Allowance

VA provides full time tuition and may provide financial assistance for housing expenses for those not on active duty.

If you are attending in-residence training, the housing payment is equal to the military Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) for an E-5 with dependents, based on the zip code of where you are physically attending training. If you are pursuing training through distance (online learning), the Monthly Housing Stipend will be paid at the rate of one-half of the national average of the military BAH for an E-5 with dependents. All housing payments are prorated based on the number of days you are attending.
